Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 September 2026

Paylence respects your privacy. This notice explains the personal information we collect, why we use it, when we share it, how long we keep it, and the choices available to you when you use the Paylence website or application.

Information we collect

We collect account information you provide, including your name, email address, phone number, username, password and transaction-PIN status. We collect account, wallet and transaction records needed to display balances, process requests, prevent duplicate activity, and provide support. We may collect device, browser, IP-address, log, session, and security-event information to operate and protect the service.

When a feature requires it, we collect verification information such as your date of birth, address, government identity information, BVN or NIN details, selfie, and identity documents. We collect only the information needed for the requested verification or financial-service feature.

Google sign-in data

If you select Continue with Google, Google provides your Google account's unique identifier, verified email address, name, and profile image. We use that information solely to create or sign you in to a Paylence account, prevent account duplication, and display your account profile. We do not use Google sign-in data for advertising, and we do not sell it.

Why we use information

We use personal information to create and administer accounts; authenticate users; provide wallet, transfer, bill, savings, card, and related features; communicate account and security notices; investigate fraud, misuse, and technical problems; meet legal, audit, tax, anti-fraud, and regulatory obligations; and improve the reliability and usability of Paylence.

Who we share it with

We share information with providers that help us operate Paylence, including cloud hosting, authentication, email delivery, payment, bill-payment, banking, card, identity-verification, and fraud-prevention partners. We share only what is necessary for the relevant service. We may also disclose information where required by law, a regulator, a lawful request, or to protect users, Paylence, and the public from fraud or harm. We do not sell personal information.

Security and retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards, including access controls, encryption where appropriate, monitoring, and transaction-security controls. No service can guarantee absolute security. We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal, regulatory, tax, and fraud-prevention obligations. We then delete or de-identify it where appropriate.

Your rights and choices

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information where applicable. Some requests may be limited when we must retain information for security, legal, or regulatory reasons. You can stop using Google sign-in by using another supported sign-in method, subject to any account-security requirements.
